Evidence-based reading methods
Small groups of 3–5 students
Around 4th grade, reading changes — and some kids get left behind
They stop “learning to read” and start “reading to learn.” If comprehension hasn’t caught up, every subject gets harder. Sound familiar?
Reads it, doesn’t get it
Your child can say the words out loud but can’t tell you what the passage actually meant.
Confidence is slipping
Reading feels like a chore. They avoid it, rush it, or shut down when asked to read aloud.
Falling behind in class
Grades in reading — and the subjects that depend on it — are starting to drift the wrong way.
How it works
Simple, supportive, and built around small groups so no child gets lost.

We match the right group

They grow — and enjoy it
Targeted help for their real gaps, in a group small enough to feel safe making mistakes.

“Every child can become a strong, confident reader — they just need the right support, in a group small enough to be seen.”

Common questions
What ages and grades do you tutor?
Our small-group reading programs focus on grades 4 and up — upper elementary and middle school — where the shift to “reading to learn” happens. On your free call we’ll confirm the best fit for your child.
How big are the groups?
Small — just 3 to 5 students at a similar level. Small enough that your child gets real attention, big enough that they learn alongside peers.
Is it online or in person?
Live and online. Your child joins a video session with their tutor and a few other students — interactive, like a tiny classroom.
Who does the teaching?
Certified teachers, using evidence-based methods developed by our founder, Jacqueline Thompson, Ed.S., who has 30 years of classroom experience.
